Making a Bequest to the Cheetah Conservation Fund
The Cheetah Conservation Fund welcomes bequests via will or living trust. Click here for sample wording.
Bequests to CCF are normally exempt from inheritance taxes, state and federal in the USA, and deductions are unlimited. As a result, a bequest in your will, combined with a pledge or a life income donation, can provide a significantly bigger benefit than might appear.
Gifts left to CCF may be deductible, and with suitable planning you may be able to make a significant bequest to support CCF's work without incurring estate taxation. Before proceeding with a bequest, please consult your tax advisor: this page and others covering this subject on the CCF web site are not legal documents and should not be taken as a statement or interpretation of the law. In addition, these notes may not apply outside the United States.

Bequests are a significant, ongoing source that increases CCF's ability to work to preserve the cheetah.
Gifts in the form of general bequests are the most useful because they allow us to address particular projects that need support at a given time. However, if there is a particular CCF program you would like to support, or if you would like to fund an endowment, we will be happy to assist you to plan a gift that both meets your desires and provides the most help to CCF.
The estate tax was repealed temporarily for 2010 before being reinstated with passage of The Tax Relief, Unemployment Insurance Reauthorization and Job Creation Act in December 2010. The law, which was retroactive for all 2010 decedents, raised the estate tax exemption level to $5.0 million for 2010 and 2011, and was indexed upward to $5,120,000 in 2012 and $5,250,000 in 2013.
Another possibility is a life income trust. You can realise significant advantages by applying the majority of a bequest to the establishment of this type of a trust. We will be pleased to analyse your situation and advise on how this could be structured appropriately.
